A brief quest

How to use PRAMalot

  1. Download and open the PRAMalot Macintosh application. Coming soon
  2. Place this device near your Macintosh, with both speakers and microphones unobstructed, pointed at each other's general direction.
  3. Select Start listening and allow microphone access.
  4. On your Macintosh, request a time synchronization. The Grail will light when the request is heard, and this device will answer with the current time.

Keep this page open until synchronization completes. If no request is detected, move the devices closer or try the Reliable profile under Advanced.

A note about dead PRAM batteries: some Macintosh models will not boot at all with a dead battery. PRAMalot is for Macs that can still boot and need their clock restored; it cannot help a Mac that requires a replacement battery before it will start.

About PRAMalot

PRAMalot turns a modern phone or computer into an acoustic time responder for classic Macintosh computers. It listens for a short request from the PRAMalot Macintosh application and replies with the current time encoded as sound.

Audio processing happens entirely inside your browser. Nothing is uploaded or recorded remotely.
